This year is going to be big for Thailand, ‘The Land of Smiles’ is superb value for money. You can enjoy luxury holidays for all the family or just for two. But the level of luxury for the price surpasses rival destinations. There isn’t just a plethora of things to do, but there are unique experiences waiting. Street food, jungle topped islands, exotic beaches and sacred spaces.
You’ve no end of excuses to visit this exotic land, luxury resorts, tropical beaches but mixed in is one of the world’s most hectic cities. Bangkok mixes the traditional and sacred temples with the hubbub of 15,000 stall markets and 12-lane motorways. A fun nightlife and you’ll never be more than 50 metres from a restaurant or food place.
Families will love holidays to the south, the breathtaking beaches entertain for hours with plenty of water sports too. The young and adventurous will love Chang-Mai, Bangkok for the nightlife, the temples, street food and the friendly, fun-loving atmosphere. If you’re looking for a retreat Koh Kood in the east is unspoiled and we’d go there in a heartbeat.
What to do
Island hop to Phuket – Phuket Town is lively filled with animation, early morning markets and beeping tuk tuks.
Scale the cliffs, Krabi – Climb them, sail around them or bathe under them. Krabi’s distinctive limestone cliffs line the region’s 150-kilometre coastline, biting out of the sea like incisor teeth
Find some inner peace – At the heart of everything in Thailand are the sacred shrines, temples and monasteries (known as “Wats”).
When to go
The seasons in Thailand are not black and white, as a whole December to March is the best time to visit. At this time the average temperature is between 30 and 34 degrees. November and April are similar but expect a couple of days of rain.
