The more adventurous and active holiday makers will love the lakes and mountains, in the winter for skiing and in the summer for hiking, swimming, cycling and more. The Adriatic Coast is quite the opposite of other coastal regions in the country. Long, sandy beaches have plenty of space for lying in the sun or playing games. The gentle shallow waters also make this a real draw to families on holiday. Want to avoid the crowds? There are plenty of private beaches as well as the Central Adriatic Coast which is quieter.
The stretch of coastline along the Sorrentine Peninsula is another popular holiday destination. It’s rugged shoreline, sheer cliffs and colourful fishing villages are deemed by UNSECO to be outstanding and it’s easy to see why. Aside from it’s beauty the area is renowned for its restaurants and hotels.
