What to do

Take a boat ride on the Chobe river there are many places to stop along the way. Have a drink and watch the sunset. Taking a boat ride on the Chobe river is the best way to see the game during a visit here. It is not unheard of to see in excess of a thousand elephants coming down to drink along its banks during high season. Similarly, herds of buffalo, prowling lions, rare antelope such as sable can also be seen emerging from the bush, moving to the waters edge.

Quad bike across the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Sparse, vast and flat these dry plains of white nothingness are just as beautiful for their scale and emptiness. As the emptiness as the Delta is for its intricate landscapes. The feeling of freedom and isolation is what attracts visitors to the pans. There is no better way to explore it than on a quad bike.

Chobe National Park covers four eco-systems. The Savuti marsh in particular offers some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa year round. A safari cruise at sundown is the best time to experience an abundance of wildlife which will leave you with life long memories.

When to go

Botswana is a year round destination so it really does depend on what you want to do and see. The winter months are from May to October and are the best months to go to make the most of a safari. The summer months are November to April.
