We really hope that Harry, hasn’t left the honeymoon planning this late. But if you’re looking for that perfect honeymoon getaway we’ve got some recommendations for possible destinations.
While Megan and Harry have expressed how special this country is to them (Harry sourced the centre of Megan’s ring here, and the couple hid away here a few weeks after they met) we would love to put a once-in-a-lifetime safari at the top of our list for a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon.
Our preference would be Qorokwe Wilderness Safaris’ new camp, it only opened in December 2017 and is styled like a Palms Spring hotel.
A Caribbean Cruise
If you could access a private yacht like Megan & Harry you could enjoy the epitome of luxury and exclusivity, perfect for a honeymoon. If you’re on a slightly smaller budget there are plenty of cruise lines, durations and itineraries to choose from!
But if the busy all-you-can-eat buffets seem a little daunting, there are plenty of other options, such as luxury cruise line Silversea. Several of its boats, which are smaller and more luxurious than most cruise ships, have Royal Suites. Features include huge private verandas and spacious living rooms.
The honeymoon choice of the Princes’ acquaintances, Pippa Middleton and James Matthews chose Tahiti for their romantic getaway. Bora Bora, a byword for all things beautiful, no holiday to Tahiti would be complete with a visit to this legendary island! It is French Polynesia’s leading lady.
But with over 118 islands to choose from we’re sure there’s something suitable for a royal couple. Plus the best route from the UK is via Los Angeles, so you could enjoy a few days Stateside too.
Princes William and Harry love South Africa and are particularly familiar with the city. It makes a great starting point for your multi-centre honeymoon. Considered one of South Africa’s most beautiful cities, Cape Town itself has plenty to do and see but you could always start here before heading on Safari. Or jump on the short flight to Mossel Bay and embark on the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth.
If Prince Harry and Meghan choose the region for their honeymoon, they’d have easy access to some of world’s best safari camps, but if the couple don’t fancy flying there, the huge marina has plenty of space for a yacht.
Biarritz is one of the most elegant seaside towns in Europe with European royalty making regular trips here since the 1800s. Queen Victoria, Edward VII and Prince Charles have all holidayed here.
It’s a major surf destination and may seem like an unusual choice but with long sandy beaches, a rocky outcrop topped with a statue of the Virgin Mary (the Rocher de la Vierge), and sweeping views of the Bay of Biscay there’s plenty of picture perfect moments.
We work closely with a variety of hotels in a range of destinations around the world and pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with hoteliers allowing us to organise some fantastic honeymoon packages with lots of added value.
